Come and volunteer for 2022 Coastal Cleanup Day at the Aeolian Yacht Club!

Join us to remove trash from our beaches and nearby areas, water and shoreline, and participate in this one-day, statewide event. We need you! Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, gloves, and a bucket to create a zero-waste cleanup, as well as a 'grabber' if you prefer less bending!  Wear comfortable shoes and a sun hat, and please bring along your friends and family!
This year we are celebrating the 38th CA Coastal Cleanup Day! The goal of this event is to engage all Californians to remove trash and debris from our coasts, beaches, shorelines and, to identify the sources of the litter, to change behaviors that causes pollution and to raise awareness on the extent of the debris problem. It happens across all the 58 Counties not only on the Coast!
Trash collection data gathered from CCD has been used to influence policies and legislation to prevent marine debris, including California’s plastic bag ban, Styrofoam food packaging bans in more than 80 cities and new regulations to keep trash out of stormwater systems. Data from past cleanups continue to be critical in decreasing the amount of trash that enters the waste stream.
In 2021, 36,289 volunteers picked up more than 363,719 pounds of trash from beaches and waterways throughout California. Remember, this event happens all over the state, not only on the coast!
