Visiting Reciprocity
We are pleased to offer dining, bar, and docking for visiting members of reciprocal registered yacht clubs, as space is available. Reciprocal privileges must be approved by letter in advance of making arrival plans. Members in good standing with other clubs should make a request to their Secretary or office manager to send a letter of introduction (via our mailing address) requesting in-kind privileges for active members. Reciprocity infers that requests from another club will likewise extend roughly the same privileges to our members on request from the Aeolian Secretary. The Aeolian will normally process these for approval in two weeks. Reciprocal privilege letters are valid for one year so the Aeolian can verify continued membership and good standing at another club. Renewal requests for one or more members at another club can be made at the start of each calendar year in a single letter, for sake of easy administration.
It is always prudent to call ahead to let us know of your plans so that we can accommodate them.
Once visiting yacht club members have established reciprocity, they must contact the Port Captain prior to each visit for berthing instructions if arriving by boat. See the Mariner's Links tab for navigational instructions. Visiting yachts must fly their home club burgee and check in with the office or Port Captain on arrival for key issue. Members with reciprocity wishing to visit by land should contact the Rear Commodore to arrange one-time or recurrent access. When key issue is needed, key deposits are secured with a copy of a valid driver's license and credit card information. Failure to return keys on departure will incur a $25 charge, and/or notice to the visiting member's club, so be sure notify the club when you will be departing and drop off your key via the office drop slot.
Until known by officers, staff, and members of the Aeolian, reciprocity guests should have their club's name tag on-hand when using the club facilities. Name tags are required for regular events and on "bar nights" in the clubhouse, and the dress code is casual unless noted for select events by the Vice Commodore. For safety, shoes are required on the docks and throughout the shoreside property. The office can provide direct contact information of the pertinent officers depending on with whom you need to make arrangements. Aeolian does not charge for overnight berthing (up to 72 hours) and may permit limited visitation by RV in the outer parking lot.
If you are not a member of any yacht club, please contact the office about scheduling a site visit to explore membership in Aeolian Yacht Club.
